✨ Releasing What's Not Ours
This past month at ACC, we explored some of the deepest work we've done together. July challenged us to look beyond behaviors and into the subconscious patterns that shape our relationships, our healing, and the stories we tell ourselves. We practiced moving from reaction to reflection, from judgment to compassion, and from survival to intentional self-leadership.
🔹 Trauma Bonds
We explored how trauma bonds are often misunderstood as love when they're actually built through cycles of inconsistency, emotional intensity, fear, and intermittent reinforcement. Trauma bonds don't develop because someone is weak. They develop because our nervous systems become attached to familiarity, even when that familiarity causes pain.
We discussed how healing isn't simply walking away from unhealthy relationships. It's understanding why those relationships felt safe in the first place. By identifying our attachment patterns, unmet childhood needs, and nervous system conditioning, we begin creating relationships rooted in safety rather than survival.
🔹 Judgment
Judgment became an invitation to look inward instead of outward.
We explored how judging others often reveals something unresolved within ourselves. Every judgment serves as a mirror, offering insight into our fears, wounds, values, or unmet expectations. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with them?" we practiced asking, "What is this bringing up in me?"
Judgment disconnects us from compassion, while curiosity reconnects us to our humanity. The more we release the need to be right, the more space we create for empathy, humility, and emotional freedom.
🔹 Forgiveness: A Judgment Detox
Forgiveness is often misunderstood as excusing harmful behavior. We reframed it as something entirely different.
Forgiveness is the process of releasing ourselves from the emotional burden of carrying resentment, anger, and ongoing judgment. It doesn't erase accountability or require reconciliation. Instead, it allows us to stop reliving the same emotional injury over and over again.
When we continue judging ourselves or others, we remain emotionally attached to the very experience we're trying to move beyond. Forgiveness becomes a detox from judgment, creating room for peace without abandoning our boundaries or our wisdom.
🔹 Depersonalization
One of the most empowering concepts this month was learning to depersonalize.
We explored how often we make other people's behaviors mean something about us. Someone's criticism, silence, defensiveness, or emotional reaction is frequently more reflective of their own internal world than it is of our worth.
Depersonalization isn't becoming detached or uncaring. It's recognizing where our responsibility ends, and another person's begins. This practice creates emotional freedom because we stop carrying stories that were never ours to begin with.
Learning to depersonalize allows us to stay grounded in our values rather than becoming consumed by someone else's perception of us.
🌱 The ACC Takeaway
July reminded us that healing isn't about controlling other people. It's about understanding ourselves.
When we release trauma bonds, soften our judgments, practice forgiveness, and stop personalizing everything around us, we reclaim our energy. We become less reactive, more compassionate, and increasingly aligned with who we truly are.
Self-leadership begins the moment we stop asking, "How do I change them?"Â and start asking, "What is this experience teaching me about myself?"
That's where healing deepens. That's where freedom begins. ✨
ACC ANNOUNCEMENTS

✨ Exciting News! ✨
I had the honor of being a guest on the Pursuing Freedom Podcast, where we explored a topic I'm incredibly passionate about.
✨ Your nervous system isn't the problem.
For so many women, healing has become synonymous with "fixing" themselves. But what if your nervous system isn't broken? What if it's simply doing exactly what it was designed to do... protect you?
In this conversation, we unpack how our nervous systems adapt to our experiences, why survival patterns can become stuck, and how awareness, self-compassion, and intentional healing allow us to move from surviving to truly living.
Healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about creating enough safety to become more fully yourself. 💛🌿
I'm so grateful to the Pursuing Freedom team for creating space for this important conversation. I can't wait for you to listen!
