During the 2nd quarter of ACC, clients dove into the art of COMMUNICATION!
We took an in-depth look at effective Communication and how to make clear requests and manage responses. We explored the dynamics of a “Yes” and the expectations it brings, as well as the importance of accepting “No” and recognizing deal breakers. Diving into Codependency, we reviewed its roots and how it can show up in our lives today, using a Timeline Reflection to identify patterns. The concept of Human Giver Syndrome sheds light on why many people feel compelled to prioritize others’ needs over their own, often at the expense of personal well-being.
We then turned to Boundaries, debunking common Boundary Myths and discussing the various Types of Boundaries—from emotional to physical. Boundary Maintenance provided strategies for upholding boundaries in daily life, while our Trigger Group exercise helped us recognize and manage personal triggers in communication and relationships. ACC gave practical tools for establishing healthy, respectful boundaries and communicating effectively with greater confidence and clarity.
We ended with examining the importance of ethics in navigating power dynamics as leaders, recognizing how mindful leadership can positively influence those around us. ACC offered practical tools for confidently asserting boundaries while remaining authentic and ethically grounded in all interactions.
Next up is processing the emotional tolls leadership takes on leaders and how to prevent burnout!
